I found out today (via the I Turned Out a Punk blog) that Poly Styrene died. There was a better article in the Guardian about her if you are unaware of who she is.

I think the sad thing is not so much that she has died, or even another punk/person from my youth died, but the growing realisation that the balance has tipped and that more people I know are starting to die with alarming regularity. I now understand that everyone I know will die eventually or sooner or later.

Its not a good thought.
