There was an article in the newspaper this week: The cost of a plastic world.

It was a good article as far as it went (not far!). I spend quite a lot of time picking up rubbish on the beaches here, and bush tracks, and 90+% of it is plastic. I am keen on starting some kind or organisation that “does something” and even have a placeholder here: http://www.KeepBundeenaLitterFree.com

Other than pick up your own rubbish, and stuff you find lying around all I can suggest is to reduce or eliminate the plastics you buy.
